This Christmas, for me, was a holiday season full of delicious goodies and lots of love. And, as it is with every holiday season, I felt a certain whimsical magic that is strong enough to make everything else disappear. I don’t even care that Maggie ate my cinnamon M&Ms right out of my stocking.
Ok, that part isn’t true. I’m still mad, and I almost returned her Christmas present. But I digress.
Christmas now is much different than when I was a kid. I now realize the ordeal it is to get just five people together, in the same place, on the same day. I understand how difficult it is to shop for adults who already have everything they want… and how hard it is as an adult to try to figure out what it is I want. I’ve also learned that anything requiring a candy thermometer just isn’t worth the trouble.
But one thing never changes. Every year is the best Christmas I’ve ever had.
