Love is (4)

Love is being away (and neglecting your blog).

I’ve been traveling a lot during the last two weeks. Five states. Six airports. Eight cities. And while I’m super exhausted, I can’t help but look back and smile.

Lots of things were accomplished with work and much fun was had with friends. But, at least for this post, I dwell on the dinner I had with my brother.

He moved from Nashville last summer, and things just haven’t been the same since. I love that he’s happy and settled in his new place, but I really do miss his energy. So when I found out I was heading to his new city for a conference, I made sure that we’d be able to grab dinner.

We had a blast with the Presley trademark of befriending the waiter, and we talked at length about all of the things that have been going on in our lives. It was then that my brother stopped and said, “You know what, Paige? We’re truly blessed. We’re really, truly blessed.”

It’s a simple statement that we all hold inside, but seldom take time to really consider. But the way he so genuinely said it made me think of all that I have in my life right now. Amazing friends– old and new, a great job, the opportunity to chase my passions (all 295 of them), a supportive family… and the list goes on.

Love is getting away and realizing what’s real in your life. And being thankful for it.

So step away and feel the love.

I’m glad you got some time to travel – that refuels you – and I know it. ;)
